There's nothing quite like the start of a new year, with 365 days of possibilities ahead! The Fashion at The Races competition is only just getting started, with plenty of events coming up this year and lots of chances to win cash, prizes, and qualify for the state final.
2016 saw some of the competition's major events like the Balaklava Cup, Melbourne Cup Day at Morphettville and the Murray Bridge Cup, which the fashion bar already set very high. There are so many events to go so check out the dates below, put them in your diary and get planning on your winning outfit!
Kangaroo Island Cup - February 18
Set in one of the most picturesque locations in South Australia, the Kangaroo Island Cup is one of the biggest Cups on SA's racing calendar. Take yourself across on the ferry for a beautiful Summer day at The Races. The Fashions on the Field will be hosted by the lovely Amelia Mulcahy by Channel 7, and there are great prizes to be won, including an all expenses paid nights accomodation at the Southern Ocean Lodge for the winner! Port Lincoln Cup - March 3
Get there by boat, road or air, and the Port Lincoln Cup is a highlight on the Eyre Peninsula racing calendar. While you're in the region, make sure to enjoy the area's restaurants and wineries before entering the Fashions on the Field for the chance to qualify for the state final. Make your plans here!
Clare Easter Races / Oakbank Easter Races - April 15
Easter in South Australia means racing, with two huge race days at Clare, and at Oakbank.
Make it a weekend in Clare and cycle the infamous riesling trail, sampling some of the areas finest wines. On the Saturday, Clare Race Club will see thousands descend for a huge day of racing, fashion and family fun.
Only a short drive from Adelaide in the Adelaide Hills, the Oakbank Easter Races is a staple of the SA events calendar. Get a group of friends together and enjoy the Easter festivities, making sure to dress to impress for the Fashions event!
Oaks Day at Morphettville - May 6
The second event at Morphettville in the competition is set for Schweppes Oaks Day, the ladies day of the Adelaide Festival of Racing. More plans are set to be announced very soon, with a day full of fashion planned for Adelaide's home of racing. Mount Gambier Cup - May 12
