Cold Weather Dressing for Gents

Photography by Lilac in Hand Photography

The cold weather is starting to hit in SA and that means two things.1, it's time to ensure your autumn style is in check and 2, that you enjoy some Easter treats and great autumn racing events. Coming up is the Easter Racing Carnival over Easter weekend, with racing on at Oakbank and Easter. Traditionally they can tend to be chilly days, so for gentlemen it's always good to prepare for a colder day!

Consider these Autumn style looks when shopping for your next racing event outfit.

The Three Piece

The three piece will keep you warm and stylish for any event. Try playing with different sets of suits or a different coloured vest for something a bit different.

The Textured Blazer

A textured blazer or sports coat will also keep you looking good and staying warm. Similar blazers to the one pictured above can be found at MJ Bale and Petershearer Menswear.

The Double Breasted Suit

A double breasted suit adds an element of formality to a look which is perfect for the Autumn racing season. It also adds an extra layer for comfort on the cooler days. Try using the suit jacket and pair it with a contrasting chino colour which is echoed elsewhere in the look, in this case the black knit tie.

The Overcoat

Everyone needs a big warm overcoat as part of their Autumn/Winter arsenal. When considering buying one make sure you try it on with a suit underneath as the fit and comfort is very important. The overcoat looks best when it extends to mid thigh or lower.
