Winner Interview - Hawker Cup

The dusty brown landscape of the Flinders Ranges, set in the South Australian outback, makes the Hawker Cup one of the most unique racing events in the state. While racing unfortunately had to be postponed for the 2017 Cup, that didn't stop the area's most stylish dressing their best for the Fashion at The Races competition.

Someone experienced not just in style, but in the Fashion at The Races competition as well, is Mija Reynolds, who won the qualifying heat at Hawker. Mija impressed with her well styled look, completed with an on-trend turban that she crafted herself. We spoke to the Hawker local about her style, and if you like her look make sure to vote for her for the People's Choice Award!

Where is your winning outfit from?

My dress is from ASOS Salon, jacket from Forever New, and shoes from Betts. I have accessories from Forever New, ASOS and Dents. My millinery was a fabric turban I made myself.

Who are your favourite designers?

Roksanda Ilincic, Christian Lacroix, Nikki Atkinson and Liv Sienne.

What do you love about the Races?

I love the social side of the races, and I enjoy having a punt too. Most of all I love the opportunity to dress up and wear a hat. The races are the perfect creative outlet for me to express myself through fashion.

There are just 3 opportunities left to qualify for the 2016-17 State Final for Fashion at The Races. The next event is the Port Augusta Cup on July 9.
