ALL THE FASHION FROM THE KANGAROO ISLAND CUP

The SeaLink Kangaroo Island Racing Carnival ran from February 14 to 16 at the Cygnet River Racecourse in Kingscote, where the competition came to a climax on one sensational Saturday of regional racing. A true celebration of Kangaroo Island culture, the track was inundated with offerings from local food and wine producers, with true gastronomic explorers indulging in four decadent courses and Dudley Wines inside the Long Lunch marquee.

In one of the busiest weekends on the island, guests were able to experience the region’s signature charm in just 30 minutes of air travel from Adelaide Airport, or arriving in under an hour by ferry from Cape Jervis. The annual event showcased a spirited array of racing fashion, with pastels proving popular in pinks, citrus tones and violet. Floral prints and floating hemlines echoed the day’s sunny demeanour, as racegoers accessorised with boaters, felt hats and floral crowns.

Our FATR Best Dressed Womenswear winner Alex Hecker provided a contrast wearing an a-symmetrical monochrome midi dress with mesh details. Accessorised with a black straw boater, Alex matched her ensemble with black leather gloves, a silken scarf and mesh pumps and complemented the monochrome colour scheme with bold statement earrings and a mandarin-hued top handle bag.
